Music Auditorium in Rome

Project Detail

ICAR has contributed to the “Music Park” Roma auditorium realization supplying PFC systems equipped with blocking filters

In accordance with the definition given by its designer, Renzo Piano, the Music Park Auditorium in Rome can be defined as a part of the “cultural fabric.” By the opening date, 21 December 2002, the Music Park Auditorium had become a fixture in the panorama of Rome and in the national cultural life both in terms of the quality of its offerings and the number of involved spectators. The Music Park Auditorium electric plant feeds mainly lights, the air-conditioning plant, and the electronic devices, and therefore for the re-phasing system design ICAR took into account the harmonic effect of these loads.

Due to the harmonic presence, some MULTIMATIC Filter automatic Power factor Correction systems were installed, equipped with barrier filters with an agreed frequency of 180Hz, for a reactive power of 1750kvar subdivided between the MT/BT cabinets that feed the overall electrical system.

  • Correct functioning of equipment thanks to the filter for harmonic currents
  • Improved overall energetic efficiency
  • Elimination of penalties caused by low cos phi
